BRAZIL: NEW PORT STATE CONTROL CONCENTRATED INSPECTION CAMPAIGNS TO COMMENCE ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2010
Your Managers have been informed that the members of the Viña del Mar Agreement on Port State Control have agreed to conduct a similar concentrated inspection campaign (CIC) to that being undertaken under the Tokyo MoU on vessels carrying harmful substances with emphasis on dangerous substances (marine pollutants) transported in packaged form in accordance with the MARPOL Convention – Annex III, SOLAS Convention – Chapter VII and the IMDG Code.
This three-month campaign will start on September 1, 2010 and end on November 30, 2010.
